Our final destination in the Texas Road trip, was San Antonio. It was such a long drive from Big Bend National Park! Unfortunately, we did not have great weather for San Antonio and dampened our experience a bit. We still always make of the best of things, but I had heard so many wonderful stories of visiting San Antonio. We didn't get to experience the river boats and it poured rain the entire time!
We visited the Alamo, ate some fantastic donuts, did some shopping and thrifting outside of downtown, and had some of the best food our entire trip!
All good things must come to an end, and we enjoyed Texas so much! We headed our way to Georgia early the next morning! This was the longest drive I've ever made. Ideally, it should've been broken down, but we had to get back home for an event. We got in super late but made a couple of stops in Louisianna and I had to show my daughter New Orleans briefly for some beignets and Bourbon St. We also stopped in Laurel, Mississippi because of the Fixer up tv show and got Cane's chicken! My daughter loves Cane's and we'd not had it since a road trip up north! The memories made this trip will last a lifetime! I encourage everyone to take the trip! I've never regretted anywhere I've been and the memories we've created!
