Grenada- The Spice Island

Grenada is an island nation of the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea. The southernmost of the Windward Islands, Grenada is directly south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and about 100 miles north of Trinidad and the South American mainland.

Grenada consists of the island of Grenada itself, two smaller islands, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, and several small islands which lie to the north of the main island and are a part of the Grenadines. Its size is 348.5 square kilometres (134.6 sq mi), and it had an estimated population of 124,523 in July 2021. Its capital is St. George's. Grenada is also known as the "Island of Spice" due to its production of nutmeg and mace crops.

Grenada’s landscape is of great beauty and variety. It’s rare to find lush rainforests, refreshing waterfalls, cascading cliffs, and spectacular coral formations on an island this small.

Beautiful beach at Sandals Grenada

Had I looked at a map to select areas to visit, Grenada probably wouldn't have been a top choice! I am saddened by this because the island did not disappoint and is probably one of my most favorites I've visited within the Caribbean!

During my time here, I stayed at Sandals Grenda. My stay directly on the Pink Gin Beach was incredible! This resort is smaller in size but tops my experiences with Sandals Resorts! Superb staff and hospitality, phenomenal food, and wonderful water sports that are included with your stay! I, personally, loved the boat excursion to tour the island that was an added perk with this resort! You can also easily snorkel the rock barriers around the beach!

Sandals Resorts are adult only all inclusive and all of your meals and drinks are included. Here's a sample of some of the meals and beverages.

Unlimited gourmet food and premium drinks are included during your stay at Sandals Resorts!

When visiting any location, I enjoy submerging myself in the rich culture of the area and venturing off property! With Sandals Resorts, you can do so safely through Island Routes, the top adventure company within the Caribbean. They provide pickup and drop off at the resort and their guides are top notch! Excursions are an additional cost to your stay but definitely good bang for your buck to explore an area and get to know rich history and see places aside of the resort! On this trip, we got to visit a chocolate factory and learn so much about this process! I brought home cocoa butter and wished I'd gotten more! I also got my family a sampling of several different chocolate bars! We ventured to the beautiful Concord Falls! I loved this because I'm a waterfall chaser! Then, we rode through the Grand Etang Rainforest and I knocked off one for the bucket list! Holding a monkey in a lush rainforest was such an exciting experience! The ride through the island was beautiful as well. I highly recommend this excursion if you visit the area!

I would rate my experience in this country at this property a 10/10! It was such an amazing place and I hope to return one day! I learned so much to share with clients!
